These steps should be completed after you receive your
“Welcome to SAC" email.
Step 1: Review your English and math course recommendations. Course recommendations are determined using information provided on your application. You can find your placement recommendation scores on Self-Service, under Academics option, click on Test Summary.
If you feel that you need additional language acquisition support, you may consider enrolling in ESL/EMLS courses. Learn more about English for Multilingual Students to see if it is a right fit for you.

Step 2: Complete the Super Strong Career Assessment. This free assessment will help you confirm your academic major and career interest. We link your interests to careers, salaries, job outlooks, skills to the SAC Career and Academic Pathways (CAP) aligned to help you meet your goals. Visit the Super Strong Career Assessment website.

Step 3: Complete New Student Orientation and Design Your Class Schedule. In order to customize a schedule that fits your needs, you must complete an orientation and meet with a counselor for class recommendations. There are two ways to get this done:
Complete online. Log into Self-Service account, click on the Academics option on the left navigation menu and follow the drop menu to the “New Student Orientation - SAC". Please allow yourself about 45 minutes to complete the online orientation. After you are done, sign up for a virtual counseling session at sac.edu/counseling.
OR
Attend a New Student Registration Orientation. Visit sac.edu/orientation to sign up for a date and time that works for you.

Step 4: If You Attended Another College (other than SAC or SCC). To enroll in a course that has a prerequisite or if you have completed coursework at a regionally accredited college that meets the requirements, you can meet with a counselor in a 15-minute Live Chat with a Counselor session for verification and prerequisite clearance.

Step 5: Apply for Financial Aid. Complete the Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) by filling out the Free Application at fafsa.ed.gov or California Dream Act Application by filling out the free application at dream.csac.ca.gov. SAC Federal School Code is 001284.

Step 6: Registration. Check for your registration date and time on WebAdvisor, under Registration. Login using your username and password provided. Register for classes online, on or after your assigned registration date and time. Additional registration instructions are available on the Admissions and Records website.

Step 7: Pay Fees. Fees must be paid within 3 calendar days, including weekends, after registering for courses. The date that you register counts as the first calendar day. For information regarding fee payment options and payment policies, please visit the Cashier's Office website.
