Hi, My name is Anushi Seneviratne. I have been in the
Early Childhood Education field for the past 26 years. I have experience
working as a teacher (Infants, Preschool, Elementary, High School and College),
Preschool director, and also as the owner of two 125-student capacity child
care centers for 11 years in Orange County. I started my college studies as a Business major, and
after an unplanned class in Sociology at CSUF, I changed my trajectory towards
Human Services and Human Development. I hold a diploma in Montessori teaching, CA Director Permit,
Adult Education and CTE credentials, and am a certified PITC (Program for
Infant Toddler Care) teacher trainer. My ongoing quest for learning also took
me to Reggio Emilia, Italy to study the Reggio Emilia concept of teaching. During my spare time, I enjoy playing with my three dogs
who are 12, 17 and 19 years old. My desire to learn about other cultures and
the world around us has taken me to 28 countries, and I plan on spending my
free time traveling to the remaining 25 countries on my list! I feel genuinely blessed to be part of the Child
Development department at Santa Ana College. I enjoy interacting with my
students, sharing information and stories, and learning from one another. I am
looking forward to having you in one of my classes, where discussion, fun, and
learning are abundant!
