Santa Ana College Guided Pathways Campus Events
During the Spring semester Santa Ana College chose to maintain their Guided Pathways work throughout the Emergency Remote Instruction period brought on by the Covid-19 crisis. During this time, previously planning in-person events were moved into a virtual space and designed for breakouts and goal-setting for the upcoming 20-21 Academic Year. Santa Ana College GP leads and team members engaged with
Career Ladders Project to support Guided Pathways efforts during this time. Between December 11, 2019 and May 29, 2020, SAC, with the assistance of CLP, held 14 planning calls and trainings to support three large Guided Pathways Events to maintain communication with the college, work towards a GP reorganization, and launch our Student Success Teams for all Career & Academic Pathways (meta-majors).
The Guided Pathways work this semester included the following.
- Designed opportunities for GP learning and collaboration, allowing input and feedback from SAC leads and members.
- GP leadership clarified and articulated goals for GP events, goals included:
- Reorganizing and evaluating GP Implementation Team structures and goals.
- Training and Launching Success Teams.
- Maintaining active communication and folding the entire campus community into all Guided Pathways work.
- Developing our Starfish workflow to suit our current operations.
- Finalizing web site redesign templates for phasing in our Guided Pathways work for the public.
- Work this Spring included preparing the SAC pilot success team members for delivering a webinar informing the campus community of success team progress and lessons learned.
- Work also involved training SAC members to lead team breakout sessions with clear templates for agenda and materials.
- CLP assisted SAC with Zoom facilitation, notes/deliverables, and registration for events.
