With great sadness, we are sharing the passing of Mr. John Acuña, beloved colleague and counselor.
John was a full-time counselor at Santa Ana College for 20 years and visionary in his pursuit of student success. John was responsible for developing our Freshman Experience program which was declared as exemplary in the State of California and across the nation. Additionally, he was a Puente Counselor, team leader and adviser for Puente teams across Southern California. After John retired in 2008 from full-time status, with his background as a veteran of the armed forces, he returned as an adjunct counselor to take on the primary task of assisting veterans with their transition from military service to civilian careers and organizing the counseling for our veterans at Santa Ana College's Veteran's Resource Center.
It is with sincere regards that we acknowledge Mr. John Acuña's 36 years of dedicated service to the Santa Ana College community!
