First C-TAG for Future Educators Cohort Excels at Chapman University
Angalina Maldonado (back far right) with six of the 13 Chapman University students in the inaugural C-TAG for Future Educators cohort.
The first cohort of C-TAG for Future Educators students to join Chapman's Integrated Educational Studies bachelor's degree program thrived in its first semester last fall. Developed within Chapman's Attallah College of Educational Studies, the C-TAG, or Chapman Transfer Admission Guarantee, program was specially designed for future elementary and special education teachers from Santa Ana College or Santiago Canyon College. Angalina Maldonado, a former student at SAC and mother of three, said Chapman University wasn't even on her list of potential schools until she learned about the C-TAG for Future Educators program from the counseling staff at Santa Ana College's Center for Teacher Education. Through C-TAG, she earned a scholarship and is on her way to achieving her dream of becoming a special education teacher.

California Redistricting Process a Success
Californians were invited to “Draw the Lines" through redistricting.
Every 10 years, after the federal government publishes updated census information, California must redraw the boundaries of its districts so they correctly reflect the state's population. RSCCD and SAC actively assisted the California Citizens Redistricting Commission in this effort, including hosting a community hearing to review and comment on revised boundaries of the trustee areas for the Rancho Santiago Community College District. The California Citizens Redistricting Commission has since announced
final approved maps by the 2020 California Citizens Redistricting Commission for the Board of Equalizations, Congress, State Senate, and Assembly. To learn more about redistricting,
