Education: Monica (Porter) Zarske was hired in the Fall of 2005, as a full-time faculty member assuming the roles of Professor/ Coordinator and Department Chair of the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program. Professor. Zarske received a B.A. in Communicative Disorders, a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Communicative Disorders from San Diego State University. Prior to coming to Santa Ana College, Professor. Zarske was a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist for 12 years with experience working across a variety of settings: hospitals, rehabilitation centers, private practice, school districts and providing in-home therapy consultations. Areas of interest and expertise are in early intervention and bilingual/ multicultural issues as it pertains to clients.
Professor Zarske holds the Certificate of Clinical Competency form the American Speech-Language Hearing Association in addition to California State Licensure and is also a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in addition to the California Speech-Language Hearing Association (CSHA).
