Mission Statement
“The goal of the Summer Scholars Transfer Institute (SSTI) is to provide students from Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College with the opportunity to complete an intensive UC transferable course in 7 days.
This summer institute held at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) prepares historically underrepresented students in higher education for transfer to the UC system. To help nourish a positive college going culture, SSTI offers the support needed for students to stay focused on their educational goals by collaborating with partnership staff, faculty, and student networks.”
Earn SAC Units at UC Irvine!
Spend 7 days fully living, eating, and studying at UC Irvine
- Sunday, July 21st - Saturday, July 27th
Course options include (honors may be available):
SAC Earth Science 110 Introduction to Earth Science
SAC Communication Studies 102 Public Speaking
SCC POLT 101: American Government and Politics
One additional unit will be earned by taking at Counseling 111 course
Eligibility Requirements
Be a current Santa Ana College/Santiago Canyon College student
Complete English 101 or Engl 100 and a transferable math course by the end of Spring 2024
Complete 24 transferable units by the end of Spring 2024
Have a minimum transferable GPA or 2.5 (Honors section requires a minimum GPA of 3.0)

Stipend
- Program participants that succesfully complete the program may be eligible for a $200 completion stipend.
