A speech language pathology assistant will work with a speech language pathologist to provide therapy to individuals with communication disorders. These disorders include stuttering, articulation and aphasia (loss of speech due to head injury). A speech language pathology assistant will work with people of all ages, from infants to seniors, and of all backgrounds. A speech language pathology assistant must work under the supervision of a speech language pathologist and cannot work otherwise.
