Event will benefit student veterans and their families
(Santa, Ana, CA) - Santa Ana College (SAC) Veterans Resource Center will host a Philanthropic Dinner and Student Recognition event on Thursday, May 9, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Santa Ana College campus and is sponsored by Farmers & Merchants Bank; Lentz Morrissey Architecture; Lockwood Retirement Consulting; Enrique Perez, Vice Chancellor of Education Services at the Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD); and other valued supporters.
Since 2010, the SAC Veterans Resource Center supports veterans who are making the transition from military service to college and civilian life, as well as active duty personnel and their dependents, with such specialized services as:
- Veterans Affairs Office: Use of GI Bill® benefits
- Veterans Upward Bound: College Preparation Program
- Veterans Student Support Services: College Retention Program
- Academic Counseling
- Strength in Support: Mental Health Wellness & Counseling Services
- VA Vocational Rehab: VA Employment for Service Connected Disabled Veterans
All proceeds from the event will benefit the college’s Veterans Resource Center.
“With over 1200 veteran students currently attending Santa Ana College, veterans are a big part of our work here,” said Dr. Linda Rose, Santa Ana College President. “These resources are vital to helping those who have served bridge the many gaps they face and ultimately attain their educational goals.”
Event honorees include Madeline and Ronnie Grant, AT&T, R.A. Industries, U.S. Bank, Farmers & Merchants Bank, Lentz Morrissey Architecture, Strength in Support, Goodwill Tierney Center.
