(Santa Ana, CA) - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Santa Ana Field Office will welcome approximately 268 people during naturalization ceremonies outside at Santa Ana College on Wednesday, July 29.
USCIS’ top priority is to naturalize those who were scheduled to be sworn in as new citizens during the time it temporarily suspended in-person services to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), March 18 to June 4. The Oath will be administered by USCIS officials while applicants remain in their cars.
Applicants must have no symptoms, no contact with anyone with a positive diagnosis and no instructions from doctors or public health officials to self-quarantine. If any applicant is unable to make their appointment or participate in a ceremony, they will be rescheduled for a later date.
Upon request, USCIS is allowing limited and brief media attendance for naturalization ceremonies. This must be arranged in advance by contacting the public affairs officer listed below and agreeing to requirements, including the USCIS visitor policy, in order to maintain safety of the applicants, USCIS officers, and Santa Ana College officials. These requirements include wearing a face covering, filming from a designated location at the venue site and conducting interviews with new citizens outside the vicinity of where ceremonies are taking place, while maintaining social distancing protocols. USCIS’ 88 domestic field offices are operating in accordance with local guidelines. For the latest information on the status of individual offices, check our office closures page.
