"Vivid: Images In Motion" Dance Concert Scheduled from November 2 - 4, 2023
Who: Santa Ana College (SAC) Dance Department alongside Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre and Fuse Dance Company will be hosting their Fall 2023 Dance Concert, “Vivid: Images in Motion".
What: SAC Dance productions will have two well-established dance companies, Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre and Fuse Dance Company, presenting and working with SAC students in the Fall 2023 Dance Concert. The students will experience what it is like to work with some of the best professionals in the industry as they gear up for this performance. SAC adjunct faculty member Joshua D. Estrada-Romero is the artistic director of Fuse Dance Company.

About Nannette Brodie:
Nannette Brodie – Artistic Director, and Distinguished Artist of the Year 2007 for Long Beach, performed and choreographed for the nationally acclaimed Los Angeles modern dance company, The Moving Company. Since that time she has choreographed independently in musical theatre, dance companies, television and film, while starting her own company and a nonprofit corporation, South Coast Dance Arts Alliance.
After receiving her BFA in Art and her MA Degree in Dance from California State University Los Angeles, Nannette taught on the faculties of California State University Chico and Long Beach, Loyola-Marymount University, and Long Beach City College.
Nannette became the director of dance at Golden West College, and in 1986 she started her own modern dance company, the Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre. Her choreography has been performed in New York, California, Nevada, Illinois, Utah, Mexico, Finland, Czech Republicand France.
Nannette’s principal training and theory of choreography stem from her work with Murray Louis, Janice Day and Alwin Nikolais. She is an alumnus of the Nikolais-Louis Dance Lab in New York. Nannette received the Else Loudon Solo Award for her choreography at the Palm Desert Dance Festival in 2002, the “Daffy” Award from Dance in the Desert Festival in 2007, as well as recognition for Outstanding Woman in Arts and Culture for Long Beach and Distinguished Arts Educator for Huntington Beach, CA.
About FUSE Dance Company:
FUSE Dance Company is a contemporary dance company that supports and fosters the growth and development of the performing arts in Southern California. Through research and exploration, FUSE develops an aesthetic that merges contemporary dance with other movement practices.
FUSE has participated in many Southern California Dance Festivals including SoCal Dance Invitational, Santa Barbaras’s HHII Dance Festival, Orange County Dance Festival, Los Angeles Dance Festival, BlakTina Dance Festival and has also had privilege of showcasing their work in Boston MA, Austin TX, New York NY, Seattle WA, Salt Lake City and St. George UT and Ketchikan, AK and Las Vegas NV.
