MA030 Phlebotomy
The Santa Ana College Medical Assisting Department offers a one-unit basic phlebotomy certificate of achievement course. This hybrid course is designed with on-line learning modules that are completed on Canvas before attending two, six-hour class sessions on Fridays &/or Saturdays on campus with the instructor for hands on teaching. Students who wish to participate in this course, sign a waiver of liability allowing venipunctures and capillary punctures made by peers on themselves for purposes of learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students with receive a Certificate of Achievement in Phlebotomy. Please note: this is not a course that meets requirements for the National Certified Phlebotomy Technician Exam. Santa Ana College Community Services and American University of Medical Technology (AUMT) offer an accredited Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Program on Saturdays and is approved by the Department of Education.
