What is Canvas ePortfolios?
ePortfolio is a Canvas tool available at Santa Ana College where students can portray competency work, including any related artifacts that demonstrate how learning objectives have been met or specific training accomplished. Think of eportfolio as a “workspace” and a “record” of academic learning.
ePortfolios are tied to the user Profiles and not a specific course. Users can build an unlimited number of ePortfolios in which to collect and document their educational projects, submissions, experiences, and other work products. Users can keep ePortfolios private or share with other students, instructors, and/or future employers.

What Are the Differences Between Setting Your ePortfolio to “Public” or “Private"?
The default setting on Canvas ePortfolio is “private,” which means it cannot be found via searching or viewed without access to a specific link. On the “Welcome to Your ePortfolio” page, you will see that link, which you can then copy and share with others when you want to give them access to viewing your ePortfolio.
To share a “public” ePortfolio, copy the URL from the browser and share to anyone you want to view your portfolio. As with the “private” link, that URL could potentially get passed along further by others. However, if you want to “unshare” a public ePortfolio, you will simply change the setting back to private, and then knowing the URL would no longer give people access; they would need the “private” link.
