Criminal Justice Academies
Training Academy Preparation (TAP Class)
This course is designed to prepare the student for the Basic Law Enforcement Academy (OCSA). It will include drill, ceremony, physical training, reporting, and speeches from the Recruit Orientation Manual (ROM). Students will have the opportunity to practice and familiarization themselves with this required protocol during the course. Examples of content that will be covered include:- Honor Code requirements and expectations
- Familiarization with academy grounds and facility
- How to march
- Flag raising protocols
- Basic movements in formation
- Physical training protocol and speeches
- P.O.S.T. fitness requirements
- Review of the exercises and speeches of the physical training program
- General nutrition recommendations for the academy
- How to report to staff
- Morning reports
- End-of-day reporting
Non-sponsored recruits and sponsored recruits are highly recommended to attend. We are confident that every individual will benefit from this course and will be better prepared for their experience as a basic academy recruit.
