(Santa Ana, CA) - After much discussion and support from the digital media program Advisory Board, Santa Ana College (SAC) concluded a name change was in order for the Television & Video Communications Department (TELV) and is excited to announce the department will become Digital Media (DM) beginning Fall 2020.
SAC continually works to evolve to meet current industry needs and skills training to successfully prepare students for their careers. The division curriculum committee determined this name change as crucial to accurately represent the program to future employers as the rapidly changing industry of production and content-creation advances.
The new name is reflective of the TELV department, which is primarily housed at the Digital Media Center where all student cameras, design tools, editing systems, and audio production are digital, and where student content is showcased on digital platforms such as YouTube, other websites and social media.
The courses, degrees and certificates will remain mostly unchanged, aside from classes falling under DM instead of TELV on WebAdvisor and in the new catalog for students.
