(Santa Ana, CA) - The Santa Ana College (SAC) Foundation President’s Circle ended 2018 on a positive note as it surpassed its most recent fundraising goal of $100,000.
The funds, received from generous donors, alumni, retirees and SAC faculty and staff, will be used to meet student needs and fund the Foundation’s activities throughout the year.
“We are delighted to announce that the SAC Foundation raised a record breaking $111,000, and we thank all of our donors for helping the Foundation surpass its fundraising goal,” said Rossina Gallegos, SAC Foundation Board President. “These funds will be used to meet the urgent needs of SAC students, fund critical academic programming and directly support all of the work the Foundation does to build resources for the college throughout the year. This includes thousands of dollars in scholarships and direct funding for innovative programs, academic activities and resources for our students.”
President’s Circle donor and SAC Alumnae Marcie Simpson is the President and COO of Nycote Laboratories Corporation in Los Angeles. She credits SAC with helping her to succeed academically and professionally, and is one of only a handful of female CEO’s in the aerospace and aviation industry.
“With such a diverse community, SAC provided me with the opportunity to explore my creativity and develop my interpersonal skills,” says Simpson. “SAC prepared me to manage and succeed in business in the United States and abroad.”
Since its 2007 inception, President’s Circle members have raised over $700,000 in unrestricted funds for students and to assist in financing the college and the Foundation’s greatest needs. In addition to directly supporting SAC students, President’s Circle members participate in exclusive gatherings with the college president, president’s cabinet, Santa Ana College Foundation Board of Directors, faculty and other college leaders throughout the year.
