This memorable coastal getaway begins aboard one of the most famous ships in history! When The Queen Mary took her maiden voyage in 1936, she was the largest, fastest and most luxurious passenger ship in the world! In the era of steamships, The Queen Mary became synonymous with prestige and exclusivity, a status symbol for those in high society who could afford to travel in style. During her 31 years at sea, this floating palace offered an unparalleled travel experience for the rich and famous crossing the Atlantic Ocean, until her final voyage from England to Long Beach in 1967 marked the end of an era. We’ll enjoy a guided “Glory Days” tour focused on The Queen Mary’s fascinating history, mysterious legends, and paranormal curiosities. Learn about her fascinating history – from construction to her time transporting the British Royal Family and her days as a troop ship during World War II. Your knowledgeable and engaging tour guides will bring the ship's past to life with interesting stories and anecdotes along with nostalgic photographs and memorabilia on display. Following, enjoy time at leisure exploring the ships public spaces and shops at leisure. This afternoon we’ll continue to Gladstone’s Long Beach, the highly rated waterfront restaurant that has been in operation in Long Beach’s Rainbow Harbor since 1949. Enjoy an included lunch with choice of entrée while soaking up the restaurant’s relaxed ambiance and picture-perfect location. We top off the day with an included ice cream treat at a locals’ favorite that offers unique flavors that are rich and creamy – the perfect way to end our coastal getaway.
