Orange County Sheriff's Regional Training Academy

The Orange County Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy continues to serve as a premier law enforcement training facility and a strong example of the longstanding partnership between Santa Ana College, the Rancho Santiago Community College District, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The 53,000-square-foot complex, located on 15 acres at Tustin Legacy, provides a modern training environment designed to support both new academy recruits and current law enforcement professionals. The facility includes classrooms, lecture halls, an auditorium and gymnasium, a physical fitness obstacle course, and administrative offices. Through this facility, Santa Ana College and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department are able to provide high-quality law enforcement education and training to academy recruits, current law enforcement officers, and public safety professionals throughout Orange County and beyond.

The academy was funded through Measure E, a $337 million general obligation bond approved by local voters in 2002 to expand and improve community college facilities. Designed by gkkworks, the facility reflects the enduring partnership established in 1970 between the Rancho Santiago Community College District and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

With this leading-edge facility, and through the continued education and training expertise of Santa Ana College and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Orange County’s law enforcement officers are provided with the knowledge, skills, and professional preparation needed to serve their communities with excellence.
