What is Dual Enrollment?
Dual Enrollment is a unique opportunity for high school/K-12 students to earn college credit before completing high school.
Dual enrollment challenges advanced academic or vocational work for high school students and are not intended as remedial or makeup work.
How can a Student Participate?
Students must be currently enrolled in a K-12 school.
How many units can a student enroll in?
Up to 11 units per semester
Up to 5 units in intersession
Up to 5 units in summer
2 different tracks for high school students who wish to enroll at Santa Ana College.
Track 1: Career Advanced Placement Program Form (Dual Enrollment)
Eligible K-12 students can enroll at a community college for educational enrichment courses by submitting a Career Advanced Placement Program (CAP) Form.
Completed CAP Forms must be submitted to SAC Admissions & Records Office in S-101 before students are permitted to register.
Once the CAP Form is submitted, students will be given a registration date. Students may enroll through their Webadvisor portal to any available course, as long as all course assessment and pre-requisite requirements are met.
Final approval rests with Santa Ana College.
Track 2: Concurrent Enrollment Program between SAC and the K-12 district/high school.
Students are taught by a SAC Instructor at their school site.
The course can be offered before school or after school.
The course can be embedded in the school day.
Approved students will have their enrollment fees and health fees waived, and they will be exempt from paying for a textbook.
Steps for Individual Enrollment (CAP) Students:
Apply online to SAC.

Complete the CAP & Minor Consent form and get all the appropriate signatures (Student, Parent, Principal, and Division Dean).
Submit CAP & Minor Consent form to Admissions & Records in S-101.
Enroll for your classes on designated registration dates provided by Admissions & Records.
Steps for Enrollment through a coordinated program:
Apply online to SAC.
Complete & submit CAP form, Minor Consent Form & Add Card with all appropriate signatures to your high school counselor.
