The Career Education and Workforce Development (CEWD) Division works regionally to develop partnerships, programs and pathways which assist Career Education (CE) students in successfully reaching their education and employment goals. Santa Ana College's CE programs include 36 areas of study with offerings totaling 62 AA/AS degree options, 147 certificates, and 3 bachelor’s degrees. The CEWD Division participates in various workgroups and committees, as well as manages multiple grants in order to obtain the necessary resources (equipment, software, supplies, professional development, etc.) to support all CE programs, faculty and staff.

Listed below are brief descriptions of the main grants and their objectives:
14 projects to increase enrollment, completion and job placement; these projects are being led by the following departments/divisions/programs: Career Education & Workforce Development (CEWD), Legal Studies, Engineering, Global Business and Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Welding Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Theatre Arts, Child Development (CDES), Automotive Technology, Photography, OTA Fieldwork Assistant, Occupational Studies, and EMT.
SAC is participating in 11 Orange County regional projects to increase enrollment, completion and job placement; these projects are focused on the following areas: CEWD, Fine & Performing Arts, Human Services and Tech, Automotive Technology, Business, Nursing (SCE), Construction (SCE), Diesel-Electric Transportation Technology, and Culinary Arts.
10 projects to increase enrollment, completion and job placement; these projects are being led by the following departments/divisions/programs: Library Technology, CEWD, Career Center, Legal Studies, EMT, Medical Assistant Program, OTA Fieldwork Assistant, Manufacturing Technology, Welding Technology, and Culinary Arts.
SAC is participating in 6 Orange County regional projects to increase baccalaureate attainment, strengthen partnerships with healthcare agencies, enhance teaching and leadership excellence in healthcare education, increase access to career exploration and career readiness resources and services, support FutureBuilt resources, and invest in faculty development.
Monitor project expenditures; complete narrative progress reports; provide funding for and process professional development conference requests; assist faculty with program development and the regional and state recommendation processes. Funded projects are focused on the following areas: CEWD, Fire Technology, Diesel-Electric Transportation Technology, and Welding Technology.
SAC is participating in 8 projects under the Regional K-16 Education Collaboratives Grant Program which aims to help California’s economy recover from the COVID-19 pandemic while addressing long-standing social and economic inequities in higher education and workforce participation. These projects are focused on the following areas: Dual Enrollment, CEWD, Center for Teacher Education, Digital Media, Engineering, Computer Science, Child Development (CDES), and Academic Affairs.
