Ratify or Update a Club/Organization

The Inter-Club Council (ICC) supports student involvement by recognizing and assisting student clubs and organizations at Santa Ana College. All clubs and organizations must complete the registration process and be ratified by ICC in order to remain active and receive club privileges and benefits.

To ratify a new club or update an existing club, please complete the following steps:

  1. Review the Club Ori​entat​ion materials

  2. Secure five (5) student officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and ICC Rep.)

  3. Find at least one advisor (Faculty, Staff, or Administrator)

  4. Develop or update your club constitution and bylaws. (Template)

  5. Complete the following:

Ratification paperwork must be submitted by Thursdays and all club eligibility requirements must be met before a club or organization can be placed on an ICC agenda for ratification. Submission by the deadline does not guarantee placement on the agenda if required documentation or eligibility requirements are incomplete.

Student Officer Requirements

  • Be currently enrolled at Santa Ana College and attending at least one class at SAC.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 prior to and throughout their term of office
  • Be enrolled in at least five (5) units during the semester they hold office.
  • Pay the $10 Student Life & Leadership Fee each semester they serve as an officer.

Club Advisor/s Officer Requirements

  • Be a Santa Ana College faculty member, staff member, or administrator.
  • Attend and supervise approved club meetings, activities, events, and trips.
  • Support club officers in complying with Santa Ana College and RSCCD policies and procedures.

Club Constitution & Bylaws

As part of the registration process, new clubs must submit a draft constitution and bylaws outlining the club's:

  • Purpose and mission
  • Officer positions and duties
  • Officer terms
  • Meeting schedule and location
  • Membership requirements (if applicable)

The Student Life Office will review club constitutions after all registration materials have been submitted. Once approved, the club will be placed on an ICC agenda for ratification consideration.
