What is the Digital Dons laptop loan program?

Digital Dons is a program with the goal of meeting student technology needs to create more equitable course completion.

Participants in the Digital Dons laptop loan program are required to sign a form agreeing to the terms and conditions of the program.  Students that continue to meet eligibility requirements may renew their loan by completing the agreement form for the upcoming t​erm. Forms can be turned in at the Student Help Desk located in Academic Computing Center (ACC) A-106 .

Laptop Loan Agreement Form ​​is available in person during laptop checkout.​ 

  1. What you will need
    Have your Student ID Card ready​​.​

  2. Sign the Virtual Form: At the Digital Dons, you will be asked to sign a virtual form.

  3. Make sure you have your Self-Service login information ready.

Students enrolled at Santa Ana College and the School of Continuing Education in either credit or non-credit courses are eligible to borrow a laptop.

Credit students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher and must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 units in the Spring/Fall semesters and 3 units in the Summer.

Students in the SAC School of Continuing Education must be enrolled in Online, Hybrid, or Remote Live classes to be eligible to borrow laptops.

Students enrolled with DSPS who are taking less than 6 units must obtain authorization to borrow through the office of Disabled Students, Programs and Services (DSPS).

Students enrolled with Rising Scholars enrolled in fewer than 6 units must obtain authorization to borrow through the Rising Scholars office.

Laptops and webcams are due back at the Student Help Desk in the ACC (A-106)  ​at the end of the semester. See the loan Terms & Conditions for the exact due date for the current term.

You may be eligible to renew your loan if you continue to meet all eligibility criteria for the next semester. You must be registered for the next term at the appropriate 9 unit level, maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher, and complete a new Loan Agreement form. You will receive an email letting you know if you are eligible for renewal based on your registration status.

If the laptop is not returned or is returned with damage outside of normal wear and tear, students will be held responsible for the full cost of the laptop, which is $550.

If the Webcam is not returned or is returned with damage outside of normal wear and tear, students will be held responsible for the full cost of the Webcam, which is $25.

Additionally, a hold will be placed on student account for late returns.
