About Me
I have a Master of Science in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher
Education from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), and a Bachelor of Arts
in Sociology with a Minor in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills
(CSUDH). My passion for Student Affairs began during my time at CSUDH as a first-generation, Latino student from a working-class background. It was there that I witnessed
the educational inequities in the higher education system firsthand. That experience
helped me realize the critical role support programs play in shaping a student’s college
journey, sparking my passion for helping underrepresented students navigate higher education.
I have experience working with a variety of student populations, including first-generation
college students, low-income students, men of color, undocumented students, high-achieving students, and transfer students. I approach my work through an asset-based
lens, helping students identify and build upon their community cultural wealth. I was born in Long Beach and raised in San Pedro and Carson, California. When I’m
not working, I’m a huge fan of Japanese anime, manga, video games, and enjoy streaming
on Twitch and YouTube.
