Apprenticeship Readiness Fund. Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building & Construction Trades Council AFL-CIO​​​​​​​

​Constr​uction Technology Program Overv​iew

The Vocational Construction Technology program, in collaboration with the LA/OC Building and Construction Trades Council, is an Apprenticeship Readiness program. It connects people of all backgrounds to North America’s Building Trade Union (NABTU) registered apprenticeship program. The program teaches NABTU’s nationally recognized Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3). The program helps adults choose and succeed in apprenticeship programs. ​​

Program Length:
The program is 10 weeks. Classes are held Monday through Thursday from 5-9 pm.

Construction Technology Program​ Details:
​- Learn how to safely use power tools and participate in hands-on projects
- Strengthen basic math skills (A very important skill needed for the construction profession.)
- Complete First Aid, CPR and OSHA-10 Training
- Learn about the variety of construction trades through guest speakers and organized field trips
- Learn about the history of the construction unions
- Build skills to help you find work including the basics of resume writing, interviewing, and networking

Plus, learn and connect with union, industry and labor leaders! 


Par​ticipation Requirements
  • 18+ years or older
    A minimum 7th grade English & Math literacy
    ​Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
    Ability to pass a drug test
    ​Valid Driver's License 
    High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (Individuals who don't have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, must be co-enrolled in such a program while they participate in the construction program.)​
