Earn a Certificate for California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC)

The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC) is a set of courses designed to fulfill lower-division general education requirements for California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) campuses, as well as lead to a certificate of achievement at Santa Ana College.

To acquire the Certificate of Achievement in Cal-IGETC, it is necessary to complete the California General Education Transfer Curriculum requirements listed in this catalog with a grade of "C" or better. This pattern requires a minimum of 34 semester units. Courses must have been approved for the Cal-IGETC area during the term in which the course was taken.

Note: For most students, it is strongly recommended to complete Cal-GETC prior to transfer. Completion of Cal-GETC is not an admission requirement or admission guarantee for transfer to the CSU or UC, nor is it the only way to fulfill the lower-division, general education requirements for students at the CSU or UC. Please consult with a counselor for details on completing all transfer admission requirements or using course work from other institutions.
