(Santa Ana, Calif) –– On April 3, 2026, Santa Ana College (SAC) will host it's 32nd annual KinderCaminata, a college readiness and youth empowerment program that brings nearly 1,000 kindergartners from Santa Ana and Garden Grove Unified School Districts and several charter schools to visit the community college. The children, along with their teachers, will experience interactive activities, exhibits and other entertainment to learn about various career opportunities made possible through college education.

“We hope the future Class of 2038 will be inspired by their visit to Santa Ana College,” said Dr. Annebelle Nery, SAC President. “We want to give kindergarteners the opportunity to have an exciting learning experience at a college campus and help them envision a future in higher education in 12 years.”

Santa Ana College, in partnership with dedicated community organizations, is proud to offer an enriching and interactive experience for its youngest visitors. Through KinderCaminata, kindergarten students are introduced to the transformative possibilities of a college education, igniting a lifelong excitement for learning and future academic achievement. Members of the graduating class of 2038 will engage with hands-on exhibits and dynamic demonstrations designed to inspire exploration of future college and career pathways. As part of this milestone event, students will participate in a ceremonial march across the Santa Ana College campus — a powerful first step in envisioning themselves as future college students.

The event will feature:

  • A career fair to introduce students to a variety of career opportunities spanning from nursing, library science, art, theater, history and much more.
  • A march around campus to celebrate community and empowerment while chanting: “March, Cheer, Our future’s here!”
  • Live entertainment
  • Lunch for kindergarteners

This exciting event will take place from 8am to Noon at the SAC Central Mall and Soccer Field. To learn more about KinderCaminata, please email the outreach office at studentoutreach@sac.edu or call 714-564-6141.
