About Professor Hilburn
Helping multilingual students develop the academic English skills needed for college
and university success.
Pamela Hilburn is an instructor in the EMLS department at Santa Ana College (SAC)
with a strong focus on academic writing, critical reading, and clear communication
for multilingual students. Her teaching emphasizes practical language skills, cultural
awareness, and confidence-building strategies that support students in college-level
coursework. She is especially interested in helping international students navigate
academic expectations while developing an authentic academic voice in English. In
her free time, she likes to hike with her dog, Phin, snow and water ski, visit local bookstores,
and read.
