Hygiene Item Donation Drive: Donate to Our Pantry
Event Date: All November Long
Event Location: Thrive Center Office @ Village Room 208 (VL-208)
For the month of November, in alignment with Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month, we are seeking your generous donations of hygiene items and products such as either travel-sized or full-sized shampoo, conditioner, soaps, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and more. Your contributions will be distributed to students who may be experiencing housing insecurities to ensure that students are equipped with adequate hygiene items. Let's gather together and make a positive impact in our college community! Donations can be dropped off at the Fainbarg Chase Thrive Center Office located at Village Room 208 (backside of Food Pantry).
Holiday Gift Card Giveaway
Event Date: Sign-Up from November 1 - 8
The Fainbarg Chase Thrive Center invites you to our Holiday Grocery Gift Card Opportunity Drawing which will provide 300 students with a $50 grocery gift card to Northgate Market. As November is Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month, our center is committed to alleviating basic needs insecurities while working to end hunger and homelessness through education and advocacy.
Selected students will be given a FREE $50 grocery gift card to buy food at Northgate Market. We hope you can use the gift card to buy food and make a meal to share with your loved ones during this holiday season!
- November 1-8: Application window for students sign-ups
- November 10: 300 selected students will receive a confirmation email
- November 13-16: 300 selected students will be able to pick-up their grocery gift card.
Medi-Cal & CalFresh Application Day
Event Date: Monday, November 6Event Time: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
In collaboration with Community Health Initiative of Orange County (CHIOC), representatives will be available at the Fainbarg Chase Thrive Center Office to help students apply for Medi-Cal and CalFresh. Students will be able to meet with representatives one-on-one to apply and submit the application together.

Public Benefits and Housing Virtual Workshop

Bracken's Kitchen Volunteer Day

Ever wondered where those delicious and nutritious Ready-To-Eat Meals at our Fainbarg Chase Thrive Center Food Pantry come from? They are prepared, cooked, and delivered weekly by volunteers every week by @BrackensKitchen ! We are so excited to be hosting a Volunteer Day at Bracken's Kitchen on Tuesday, November 14th! 💖 Be part of the behind-the-scenes of creating nourishing meals to end hunger! 🙌 Join us to volunteer and help create meals like the ones you see at our Food Pantry!
We are seeking volunteers to prep meals at the Brackens Kitchen headquarters, about 5 minutes away from our SAC Campus! Fill out our interest form by Friday, November 3rd if you would like to volunteer!
International Cooking Demo featuring SAC Culinary Arts Department!

The Fainbarg Chase Thrive Center, in collaboration with the SAC Culinary Arts Department for International Education Week, is hosting a DIY International Inspired Cooking Demo! We are excited to collaborate with the SAC Culinary Arts Department featuring Chef Tiffany Heremans & Chef Jessica Christensen! Our Student Chef will share a cultural dish and demonstrate cooking techniques in a live cooking demonstration! This session will be recorded for reference, as you work with the Meal Kit from the Thrive Center after the event. Bon appetit!
