SAC recently hired Beck Miller as part-time support for our LGBTQ+ students! Beck is currently working in VL-205 in Outreach, and works Tuesdays 8am-5pm, Wednesdays 12pm-5pm, and Fridays 7am-12:30pm, and is available to see students.
LGBTQ+ Center Orange County
The LGBTQ+ Center of Orange County is located right in Santa Ana at 1605 N Spurgeon St and provides services to more than 14,000 individuals annually across a broad spectrum of culture, ethnicity, age, and economic background. Programming is especially designed for gay men, lesbians, youth, the transgender community, the Spanish-speaking LGBTQ community, the bisexual community, and LGBTQ families.
The LGBTQ+ Center OC offers many free or low-cost services including immigration support, group and individual therapy, and transition support.

Two LGBTQ+ Studies Courses Coming Fall 2025
SOC 286 - Introduction to LGBTQ+ Studies
The Introduction to LGBTQ+ Studies offers an intersectional examination of issues related to the gay, lesbian,bisexual, transgender, and queer experience. Taught from the sociological perspective, this course includeshistorical and contemporary analyses of the LGBTQ+ community and their relationship to social institutions,and institutional power. The Introduction to LGBTQ+ Studies also surveys political, legal, and cultural valuesand actions with a focus on social justice. Field trips may be required.
HIST 129 - LGBTQ+ History in the U.S.
This course explores LGBTQ+ history in the United States from the colonial era to the recent past. Historicaldevelopment of institutions, ideas, social transformations, cultural movements, liberation politics, and sexualand gender diversity in the U.S. will be studied. Students will work with scholarly texts and a variety ofprimary documents, honing historical analysis, critical thinking, and writing skills.
