COVID-19 Excused Withdrawal

Dear Student,
During these unprecedented times, we understand the challenges and concerns some of you may have experienced during the transition to Temporary Remote Instruction (TRI). As the global COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, our commitment to you remains unchanged. We are here to support you in meeting your educational goals and are standing by to assist you. However, for those who need to withdraw from a class, the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office (CCCCO) is allowing students to withdraw without penalty because of the current national COVID-19 crisis.
If you have been impacted and no longer wish to continue your enrollment with your current course(s), you may request an Excused Withdrawal (EW) with a refund of enrollment fees ($46/unit). Those who received the California College Promise Grant Waiver are not eligible for a refund.
The EW will not count against your academic progress, probation status or towards the permitted number of withdrawals/attempts. The EW, however, may affect other benefits such as Financial Aid, Veterans, Sponsorship, Athletics, etc. If you are receiving these types of benefits, we recommend that you contact the appropriate program to determine if there are ramifications to requesting an EW.
Excused Withdrawals will not be accepted for those who are currently in the process of student discipline investigations. If you have a pending student discipline case, your EW request will be accepted for review if you are not found in violation of the Standards of Student Conduct, BP5500.

Excused and Military Withdrawals (Deadline - One year after end of term)
The deadline for Regular Excused Withdrawals and other special EWs is one year after the end of the term. Supporting documents must be provided along with the form to receive an Excused Withdrawal. No refunds will be given with this EW.

Deadline - Spring 2020 COVID-19 EW and Refund Request - May 29, 2020.
Deadline to submit Excused Withdrawal or Military Withdrawal is as follows:
In accordance to Title 5, section 55024 (e), an EW symbol may be requested by the student at any time during the semester and no later than the date when the district/college policy allows a grade change.
