Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA) are focused on improving the quality of life for people in their community. They assist people of all ages that are having problems performing daily tasks and functions. They help people learn, recover or maintain these skills so that they can continue to lead normal lives. They may show people how to use special equipment to perform daily tasks (see picture above). Others may specialize working with children and may show them how to speak and socialize.
There are many possibilities opened up with this degree. The demand for occupational therapy assistants is expected to grow by 29% by 2026. This is likely in response the aging baby-boomer generation aging and needing more medical assistants
