Bachelor's in business:
If you have obtained a bachelor's in a business subject other than accounting you are on the right track to meeting the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam. Based upon the typical courses that a business major takes at most 4-year universities in California, you most likely will need to complete the
Certificate in Professional Accounting – Accounting Study and Ethics (30 Units). This certificate can be completed in either
1 year (fast track) or
2 years (regular track). In addition to the Accounting Study and Ethics certificate, you most likely will have to take some courses found in the
Certificate in Professional Accounting – Accounting Subjects and/or the
Certificate in Professional Accounting – Business Subjects
