Our painting and drawing classes provide students with credit for an AA in Art, and several certificates. We offer classes in oil painting, acrylics, and watercolor. Students learn about painting as a creative art form with exposure to historical, traditional and contemporary painting styles. Students learn how to use principles of composition, color theory and brush techniques.
Drawing classes include introduction, advanced and live drawing. Students participate in expressive drawing, exploring line, form, composition and a variety of media. Drawing from man-made objects and natural forms. In the life drawing classes students learn to draw the human form by observing live models for studies in anatomy, structure, and composition. Exposure to traditional and contemporary figurative drawing while exploring media and methods.
Our students regularly exhibit their work in local galleries, including galleries located in Santa Ana's Artist Village, the OC Fair, Santa Ana Latino Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, and many juried shows. Classes are located in the C Building on the Santa Ana College main campus. businesses in the Santa Ana Community.
