​​​​​Overview​​​
​In this course, you will learn about​​​ the fundamental operations of OCTA buses, how to do a pre-trip inspection, ​safety procedures, behind-the-wheel training, commercial permit preparation, and application guidance with OCTA. Students will also learn study skills to better prepare them for the Commercial Learner's Permit​ test and customer service skills which are essential in the field.
​​​

Note: Students are not obligated to pursue employment with OCTA upon completion of the program.

​Starting pay: $22.37​​​
Drivers may also ​earn a $3,000 hiring bonus​​​ ​

Course Requi​​rements​
Students must pass the following TWO courses:
  1. VBUS​​​ 340: Career Exploration (Bus Operator/Driver Program Orientation)
  2. ​VAUTO 674: Bus Operator/Driver Training
Participation Require​ments
​Participants must:
  1. ​​​Be 18 or older
  2. ​​Have a valid CA Driver's License​​​​​​
