The implementation of Guided Pathways at the School of Continuing Education began in 2018. Here is what we have accomplished so far.
Wendy Zembrano created a PowerPoint that centralized all department updates in one single document. This document was then presented at each Department meeting and helped to bring all teachers and staff up-to-date with school-wide updates for the semester.

Nicole Gallegos and the Outreach team contacted all students who had registered with our school for fall 2019, but had not followed through with their initial placement exam. The Outreach team was able to reschedule many of these students and onboard them to begin their fall semester classes.

Stephanie Paramore met with the "Enter the Path" team and shared her experience in previously organizing a Fast-Track Registration Process for students at NOCCD. The team plans to continue working on this project when classes resume.

had its first meeting discussing Guided Pathways (GP) organized by Lorena
Chavez and presented by Dr. Ortiz.

Kennedy announced to Leadership that GP mapping sessions would be part of CEC’s
Leadership meetings in the fall through the November deadline.

A formal discussion of GP began. Counselor Maria Aguilar Beltran assisted in the
discussion and integration of GP at SCE.

Mapping Counselors began helping each SCE department with their maps while
classified staff and other leaders discussed their role in GP. Dr. Kennedy
suggested leadership assign classified staff to specific roles and a future meeting
was discussed.

SCE departments submitted their program maps to the GP Mapping Team and continued finessing and refining with the Mapping Counselors to have them
finalized by March, 2019.

a planning meeting sharing the three main themes that the survey surfaced as
action items for Spring 2019. Themes: A better understanding of our mission (a
common purpose), clarifying information across all departments for all and
students, and creating more engagement across SCE for all.

opportunities for SCE faculty/staff to learn more about our GP journey,
continued learning and putting to practice Growth Mindset and Habits of Mind as
we worked on GP action items.
