Hundreds of happy holiday guests attended the December 4th Pageant of the Trees hosted for the fifth consecutive year by title sponsor First American Corporation. The event generated a record-setting net of
$41, 848.43 to benefit Santa Ana College students and programs.
From the upside-down Christmas tree to the Pirates of the Carribean tree and The Grape Escape, the creativity of the 17 themed Christmas trees sparked considerable excitement among attendees. The additional 17 silent auction baskets included golf with the Presidents, as in SAC President Erlinda Martinez and First American’s Ken Purcell, president of the SAC Foundation, cooking baskets, Kings hockey tickets, spa treatments and much more to tempt every pocketbook. Beautiful carols sung by a Dickens-inspired Dana Harbor student sextet added to the festivities, while a sumptuous buffet and lavish desserts delighted the palate.
President Martinez pointed to the generosity of First American Corporation, which underwrites the event. “This annual fund-raiser is the signature event benefiting the Santa Ana College Foundation, and thanks to the support of First American Corporation and our other sponsors, every penny that is raised goes to help our students and programs.”
Other sponsors included Citizen’s Business Bank, Wells Fargo, OCTFCU, Aitkin, Aitkin, and Cohn, Tracy Industries, Seville Construction, Northern Trust, Kiwanis, Brown Mortuary, Dr. Carolynn Breeden, Top Finish Collision, Dennis Hurley, Pepsi, Sodexho, and MAB.
