The Adult Basic Education Department is an educational partner dedicated to
student success through innovative basic skills instruction in reading, math,
and writing. The ABE Department prepares students to advance in their chosen academic
program (GED or High School), career, or transition to college while promoting
The ABE Department vision is to move students through an innovative
and effective program with the perspective of transitioning to college and the
workplace in order to help them reach their personal, educational, and workplace
goals and to encourage a love of learning.
Students who complete the SAC SCE Adult Basic Education (ABE) Program will demonstrate the ability to apply essential reading, writing, and math concepts in either English or Spanish when transferring to High School Subjects, GED, entering the workforce, or for personal success.
