Santa Ana College to Hold Public Forums for Presidential Candidates
Santa Ana College (SAC) invites the community to attend public forums with its finalists for the college presidency on Monday, November 15, from 11:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Johnson Student Center Conference Room #219-1-4.
Finalists Dr. Marilyn Flores, Dr. Jack Kahn, Dr. John Maduko, and Dr. Annebelle Nery will each have a one-hour individual forum to introduce themselves and answer questions. The discussions will be accessible to all SAC employees, students, and the general public. No RSVP is needed to participate.The sessions will be recorded and posted on the college website upon completion.
The sessions will be held as follows:
- Dr. Marilyn Flores, 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Dr. Jack Kahn, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
- Dr. John Maduko, 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.
- Dr. Annabelle Nery, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Those who would like to submit a question to a candidate during the forum should email them to Kennethia Vega, assistant to the vice chancellor, at email@example.com by 8:00 a.m. on Monday, November 15. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask questions during each session.
Following the forums, participants will be invited to give their feedback via an online survey, which will be emailed directly to them. The survey will not accept submissions after the deadline at 10 a.m. on November 16.
The Santa Ana College presidential finalists are (in alphabetical order):
Dr. Marilyn Flores is the Interim President of Santa Ana College in Santa Ana, Calif. She previously served as Vice President of Academic Affairs for Santiago Canyon College in Orange, Calif. She earned a Doctor in Philosophy in Institutional Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of California, Riverside in Riverside, Calif.; a Master in Arts in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles in Los Angeles, Calif; and a Bachelor in Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of California, Riverside in Riverside, Calif.
Dr. Jack Kahn is Assistant Superintendent and Vice President of Instruction at Palomar College in San Marcos, Calif. He previously served as Interim Superintendent and President of Palomar College in San Marcos, Calif. Kahn earned a Doctor in Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in Buffalo, N.Y.; a Master in Science in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling Psychology from San José State University in San José, Calif.; and a Bachelor in Science in Psychology from Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz.
Dr. John Maduko is Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, a member of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System headquartered in St. Paul, Minn. He previously served as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at North Central Texas College District in the north Texas region. Dr. Maduko earned a Doctor in Medicine in Allopathic Medicine from St. Matthew's University School of Medicine in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and a Bachelor in Science in Biology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in Pomona, Calif.
