Big Night in Cook Gym this Friday!
Doubleheader Basketball,
Scholar Athlete Recognition Night, &
Coaches vs. Cancer Night
Tomorrow night, Friday, February 20, will be a big night for the SAC Athletic Department. Both the men's and women's basketball teams will be closing out the 2014-15 season against Riverside City College while participating in the nationwide Coaches vs. Cancer campaign. The men's game tips off at 5:00 p.m. and the women's game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
At halftime of the women's game, the Dons will be honoring their 2014-15 Scholar Athletes. The student-athletes being recognized have earned a 3.0 GPA and at least 12 units while competing for an intercollegiate team. After the Scholar Athletes have been recognized, the Male and Female Scholar Athlete of the Year will be announced!
Throughout the night, donations will be accepted as part of the Coaches vs. Cancer campaign with all proceeds being donated to the American Cancer Society. The Coaches vs. Cancer program is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The initiative leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs.
Come out to Cook Gym to show your support of the Dons while recognizing our student-athletes! |
