Are you interested in being a peer tutor in the
Learning Center? We are always looking for SAC students who have
excelled in one or more courses and like working with and helping other
students. The Learning Center has tutors in a wide range of subjects
including the social sciences, sciences, math and CTE programs. How do
you become a tutor?
- Meet with Kathy Walczak, the Learning Center Coordinator; please bring your college transcript
- Obtain a reference from a faculty member in the course(s) you wish to tutor
- Complete tutor training modules (approximately 10 hours)
Tutors are either volunteers who receive Service
Learning Volunteer Hours or are paid through Work/Study (financial aid)
or, in some cases, grants.
Please stop by the Learning Center (D307) if you are interested in finding out more about being a tutor.
