This orientation will provide an overview of the skills and responsibilities needed for this job. Discover the opportunities for growth, the importance of safety, and the impact you can make in your community. Get ready to begin a rewarding and fulfilling career as a bus driver!

You must attend the orientation in order to be considered for the program. If accepted into the program, you will join the Spring 2026 cohort. The training program will be from January 24th-March 21st. It will meet on Saturdays from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.

​​​​​Overview​​​

In this course, you will learn how to drive OCTA buses. You will learn how to do a pre-trip inspection, follow safety procedures, and get behind-the-wheel training. We will help you with commercial permit preparation and fill out OCTA forms. You will also learn study tips for the permit test and how to give good customer service. Become part of the team that helps Orange County move. Note: You do not have to work for OCTA after you finish this course.​ ​​​ ​OCTA Job Outlook:​ ​Starting pay: $22.82​​​ ​
