WHO: Santa Ana College (SAC) to host more than 1,000 kindergarten students at its annual Kindercaminata event to explore future college and career paths.
WHAT: The college will welcome local kindergartners from Santa Ana Unified School District to the 28th Annual Kindercaminata. This event is traditionally held near or on the birth date of Cesar Chavez (e.g., March 31), the renowned National Farm Workers leader and civil rights activist. Held at the SAC campus, the event gives students from the class of 2034 engaging, hands-on exhibits and demonstrations to explore their future college and career paths. Kindercaminata’s objective is to inspire students to think and dream about their bright futures and careers that require a college education or career training.
The event will feature:
Career fair to introduce students to a variety of career opportunities spanning from nursing, library science, art, theater, history and much more.
March around campus to celebrate community and empowerment.
Entertainment from singing, dancing and ballet folklorico.
Lunch with friends.
Students attending the event will come from schools throughout the city of Santa Ana. Each student will receive a free SAC-branded mask. This year’s grand marshal is SAC President Dr. Annebelle Nery who will speak to the students and lead them in a “Si, se puede” (Yes, you can) march from the career fair, across campus and to the track where they will have lunch and enjoy entertainment.
