(Santa Ana, CA) — Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) has announced Jeffrey N. Lamb, Ph.D., as its new vice president of academic affairs at Santa Ana College. Lamb will be responsible for all aspects of academic programs and instructional support services in the college’s service area, as well as professional development, class scheduling, college catalogues, university articulation, instructional budget, allocation of instructional services and library services. Within his role, Lamb will support the planning, revision, staffing, delivery and evaluation of all programs, activities and services; supervise all academic administrators and instructional services support staff; prepare, submit and administer the college instructional budget; and plan, deliver, fund and evaluate all functions, programs, activities and academic services.
Most recently, Lamb was the vice president of instruction at Merritt College where he supervised all programs, services and activities related to instruction, served as the college’s accreditation liaison officer and supervised faculty, staff and assigned administrator hiring, orientation and evaluation. Prior to his role at Merritt College, he was the interim dean of the School of Fine, Applied and Communication Arts and dean of the School of English and Foreign Languages at City College of San Francisco, and interim dean of the School of Liberal Arts and dean of Academic Success and Learning Resources at Solano Community College.
With a strong background in outcomes assessment, integrated planning, accreditation, enrollment management and curriculum, experience as a co-organizer, speaker and presenter and over 15 years’ experience teaching Spanish language, literature, and culture, Lamb will fill a vital role at RSCCD and bring his knowledge of complex, diverse student bodies to RSCCD.
Lamb holds a doctorate in contemporary Latin American literature from the University of California, Los Angeles, a master’s in Latin American literature from California State University, San Diego, and a bachelor’s in Spanish from California State University, Long Beach. Having grown up in Orange County, Lamb, the father of three adult children, and his wife, Teresa are looking forward to coming “home” and settling into his new role at Santa Ana College.
