The mission of Veterans Student Support Services (VSSS) is to maximize student-veteran retention in higher education, and to promote equality of opportunity to succeed and advance at completing a program of study, at Santa Ana College or a follow-up university.
VSSS is designed to aid student veterans with staying in college as they complete a certificate, earn an AA degree, or transfer for their bachelor’s diploma or beyond.
VSSS helps student-veterans by offering the following support/resources: Student Cash Grant Aid, Financial Aid/Scholarship Aid Assistance, Personal and Professional Development Workshops, Career Exploration and Guidance, Mental Health Counseling/Referrals, Peer Mentoring, Academic Planning and Counseling, Academic Preparation Workshops for English/Math/Science, Tutoring in Multiple Subjects, College and University Campus Tours, VA Education Certification Assistance, and Priority Registration. Additionally, the VSSS sponsors field trips, outings, and other activities to help veterans stay motivated about their education.
VSSS is funded through a Department of Education TRiO Grant.
We are here to support you, the veteran.
