Financial Aid Application Process
Students new and returning are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA or the
Renewal FAFSA starting October 1 of each year .
Organize your and your parents' income information which you will need to complete the FAFSA accurately. You will need income records such as W2-forms, Federal Income 1040 Tax returns if available and records of untaxed income received during the last two year, including income earned but paid in cash.
NOTE: The FAFSA is required for most student aid programs, including grants, loans, and federal work-study. Students must have their Social Security Number on their student record with Admissions & Records. If you did not include your SSN on your admissions application, please contact Admissions & Records to provide your SSN.
Federal School Code: 001284
There are a lot of good reasons to fill out your Federal Student Assistance application and submit it on the web. This site walks you through the FAFSA on-line application.
This is a government web site, but it sure isn't stuffy and boring!
This Web site explains, in a step by step format, how to properly complete a FAFSA, the purpose of the FAFSA questions, and how to report information in some unusual cases.
STEP 2. MARCH 2
Mail the FAFSA no later than March 2. NEW Cal Grant applicants must also mail the completed GPA verification form to the California Student Aid Commission no later than March 2.
STEP 3. APRIL - MAY
Once the FAFSA has been processed by the processing center (usually within four to six weeks after submitting the FAFSA), a Student Aid Report (SAR) will be mailed to the student and all colleges listed on the FAFSA will receive the student's record. As we receive processed FAFSA records, a packet of supplemental forms will be mailed to students beginning in June.
