As an African-American man, Kalonji will share his experience both as a student and as an educator of over 20 years. Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs): Help that Helps Build Resilience Presented by: Dr. Lorry Leigh Belhumeur and Ms. Stephanie Courtillier This presentation provides information about the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study, along with neurobiology that explains why ACEs impact students mental health, and what we can do to dramatically improve health, learning and resilience for this and future generations. Past attendees noted an increased understanding of ACEs Neuroscience and Resilience and said they were very likely to incorporate this newfound knowledge into actions for themselves, their classrooms, and community.
