Supporting Access for Special Programs
College programs at Santa Ana College may apply for Priority Registration Group II status to allow their students early access to course registration. Programs are reviewed and approved by the Santa Ana College Registration Workgroup.
Overview
Santa Ana College offers Priority Registration Group II access to approved special programs whose students meet specific eligibility requirements.
- This designation ensures that eligible program participants can register early to:
- Stay on track for timely completion
- Meet external agency or grant-based requirements
- Receive equitable access to essential courses
Priority Group II programs are reviewed and approved by the Santa Ana College Registration Workgroup in collaboration with the Dean of Enrollment Services.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, programs must meet at least three (3) of the following components:
- Students have time restrictions imposed by the program
- Students are required to take 12 units or maintain full-time status
- Students are required to enroll in program-specific sections
- Students are regulated by federal, state, county, or grant-based requirements
- Students are economically or educationally disadvantaged and/or belong to a college-approved program designed to address disproportionately impacted groups
Application Process
Step 1: Complete the Application Form
Program Managers or Faculty Coordinators must complete the online Priority Registration Group II Application form.
Be prepared to include:
- Program name and number of participating students
- Description of program components
- Written justification for why the program requires priority registration
- Optional supporting documentation (e.g., grant or state program guidelines)
Step 2: Review by the Registration Workgroup
Once submitted, applications are automatically routed to the Dean of Enrollment Services for review by the members of the Registration Workgroup. The Registration Workgroup will then forward its recommendation to the Vice President of Student Services for final approval.
Step 3: Receive Notification
Applicants will be notified of the final decision prior to the start of the next registration cycle.

Timeline
Applications may be submitted at any time. Please allow up to two weeks for review and processing. If approved, the requested group will qualify for Priority Registration Group 2 in the next registration cycle.
