Vital Link's Regional Automotive Pathway Event, which exposed hundreds of high school students from all over Orange County to the various degrees and certificates offered at each of the five community colleges in the region. KinderCaminata Event Inspires College Goals Early Each year, through a community-wide collaborative effort, kindergarteners, teachers, and parents visit Santa Ana College to learn about the importance of a college education and career preparation.
KinderCaminata is traditionally scheduled on or near Cesar Chavez' birthdate, March 31. This year, the event was held virtually over two days. Thousands of SAUSD kindergartners watched pre-recorded videos from community leaders, including book readings by Chancellor Marvin Martinez and SAC's Interim President Dr. Marilyn Flores. We look forward to welcoming these kindergarten scholars when they enroll in Santa Ana College in 2033!

They were also invited to participate in a photo contest by posting a picture on social media and sharing their goals for the upcoming term. More than 100 submissions were received, with the winning post shared by Andrew R. He stated in part: “In all honesty, I would be nowhere near where I am today without the inspiration and drive I've been instilled with as a Don, for its goal oriented atmosphere has forced a profound transformative effect on my life…With the help of the outgoing faculty members from the transfer center and counseling office, my path to a successful transfer has been tailored to the prerequisites of my dream school, USC." We congratulate Andrew and all our students who shared their stories and inspiring goals!

Californians Invited to Define Their Communities Through Redistricting Every 10 years, after the federal government publishes updated census information, California must redraw the boundaries of its Congressional, State Senate, State Assembly and State Board of Equalization districts, so that the districts correctly reflect the state's population. SAC'S Civic Engagement Committee is working with the California Citizens Redistricting Commission to examine best processes to educate our students, staff, and community about the redistricting process.
