Physical Fitness for Law Enforcement Applicants 009B
Fitness training and protocol designed specifically for law enforcement applicants interested in entering the law enforcement basic police academy program at OCSA. This course focuses on all physical training protocol and speeches, as well as provides students with a way of assessing their current fitness level. The course provides tools and resources for students to create their own physical training programs that will help them prepare properly for the OCSA. Examples of content that will be covered include:
- Learn and practice recruit physical training speeches and protocol (from Recruit Orientation Manual)
- Practice of OCSA obstacle course
- Practice of POST Work Sample Test Battery tests (walls, dummy drag, etc.)
- Program design variables
- Anaerobic and aerobic training methods
- Exercise technique and body mechanics
- Injury prevention techniques
- Self-care and recovery techniques
- Nutrition and hydration guidelines
- Meal ideas for the academy setting
