B.S. & M.S., Eastern Michigan University. pedroza_jeffrey@sac.edu
My name is Jeffrey J. Pedroza and I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Some early highlights from my youth have been being shot in the head (a bb gun), pushing a robber through the front of K-Mart department storefront window (he was stealing shoes) and reading comic books. From an early age I was interested in the character Spider-man. Spider-man represents the themes of guilt, power and responsibility. I soon realized that I am Spider-Man. Knowing this has been good and bad. I attended Eastern Michigan University and obtained my B.S. in Psychology (1984) and a M.S. in Clinical Psychology (1987). I have approximately 20 years experience as a therapist (10 of those in private practice) but I retired when I moved to California (1997). I have been teaching Psychology for over 20 years. I have taught at Lansing Community College (Lansing, MI), Brooks College (Long Beach, CA), Golden West College (Huntington Beach, CA) and currently as an Associate Professor at Santa Ana College. I teach 16 sections a year of Psychology 100 (Introduction) and Psychology 250 (Abnormal). My hobbies include scrapbooking, watching movies, weed (pulling them!), photography, museums, finding cool antiques/collectibles at flea markets, listening to good music, reading cool classics, Star Trek, Sherlock Holmes, traveling, building Lego sets and spending time with my family.
